Time: 1 hour
Materials: glass votives, gold foil kit, rosemary, wire, wire clippers, foam brush, soft bristle brush
I just cannot wait for the holidays this year! I know it’s not even Thanksgiving yet, but there’s something comforting about slowly getting our apartment ready for the upcoming holidays. After rounding up some must-try votive diys, I decided to make some of my own!
Start by applying your adhesive (comes with the kit) to your votive. Let dry for about 15 minutes.
Once the adhesive changes from a milky color to clear, you’re ready to apply your gold foil.
With a fine bristle brush, gently dust off the excess gold foil.
Apply sealer over foil and let dry.
While your votives are drying, shape wire into circle. Measure enough to make a mini wreath frame that you can slip over your candle. Secure the rosemary to the frame by twisting wire pieces until tight. Once finished and votives are dry, light a candle and enjoy!
This might just be my favorite project so far. It was so simple to do, and the results are just beautiful! How will you be decorating this year? Any plans to DIY votives of your own?
