DIY Lavender Candles

Learn how to make your own lavender candles in 30 minutes! It’s hard to believe that tomorrow is the first day of September. If you’re in denial that summer will soon be over, or just need a calming moment to deal with the rush of fall, you’ll want to make these lavender candles! Here’s how:

Time: 30 minutes + set time
Materials: Atelier Stella bowls, wax, thermometer, wicks, fragrance oil, pouring pot, hot glue gun, scissors

Learn how to make your own lavender candles in 30 minutes!Instead of using a glass jar, I used these cute bowl from West Elm (hello, how adorable is that face). They’re out of stock online now, but I saw some in stores the other day. They also have a vase version if you didn’t want to use them for candles!

As the wax is melting, prep your bowls by glueing your wicks (about an inch apart) in place with a dap of hot glue. If you’re using a smaller bowl, you might only need one wick. For a standard size, I recommend two wicks to get an even burn pool. To keep your wicks upright, wrap them around a skewer or pencil until you hit the rim of the bowl where they can rest.

Learn how to make your own lavender candles in 30 minutes! This was my first time making candles and I really couldn’t believe how easy it actually is! You’re really just melting wax to reform it in a jar. Now that I have the supplies (which is really the only reason I didn’t do it in the first place), I have a feeling I’m going to be making a few of these for holiday gifts!
