Happy, happy Galentine’s Day friends! What better way to tell your BFFS you love them than to have them over for happy hour?! If you’re fighting the winter blues like I am, then this tropical cocktail will the perfect addition to any spread you whip up!
Valentine’s Day just happens to fall on the weekend this year which means you can brunch, and brunch hard. If you’re looking for an alternative to mimosas, or just want a red and pink drink to fit the theme, then you’ll want to make a batch of pomegranate and orange spritzers!
What you’ll need (per drink):
– 4 fl oz sauvignon blanc wine
– 4 fl oz sparkling water
– 1 fl oz pomegranate juice
– squeeze of fresh orange
Make sure that all of your liquids are chilled before combining. The nice thing about this drink is that you can adjust the ratios until you find the perfect amount of pom juice to wine ratio, depending on your personal preferences.
If you’re looking to really impress your Valentine, add a heart shaped ice cube or add some pink sprinkles to the rim of the glass!
It may only be Wednesday, but it’s never too early to start dreaming about weekend brunch. In my opinion, mimosas are in fact the greatest thing about brunch. Aside from bacon that is. And waffles. Hell, I love it all!
If you’re tired of pairing your champagne with orange juice (first world problems, right?), there are so many other flavor options out there. One that I’ve enjoyed lately is the pear and berry mimosa. Here’s how I make it:
You can adjust based on your preference, but I used a 2:1 ratio for champagne to pear juice. If you don’t want it that strong, then a 1:1 ratio is standard. A splash of berry nectar to gives it an extra kick and makes it absolutely perfect for summer!
While on driving up and down the 101 on my recent road trip, I passed a surprisingly fair amount of open back trucks full of lemons and oranges. If they would have been parked, it would have been an Instagram dream true, let me tell you! Even though I’m back in Oregon now, I can’t stop thinking about those colors and smells.
Plus citrus seems to be in just about every recipe popping up on Pinterest right now, don’t you think? And since I’m no chef, the only other way to make sure I’m taking in the doctor recommended amount of fruit is with these 6 must-try citrus cocktails. Trust me, totallyyy healthy.
