Somehow it’s Monday again. Why all weeks can’t be four days is beyond me. I’m sure we could all use a bit of comedic relief today (and everyday, right?) so I’ve put together ten of my favorite funny Instagram accounts that you should follow asap. Because it’s nice to get a laugh in while you’re scrolling through endless pictures of sunsets, macarons and flowers.
PS if you have any recommendations for accounts you think should be added to the list, leave them in the comments!
One of my favorite things about the end of year is that it’s a time to reflect on everything that’s happened. And what better way to keep those memories alive than by turning them into ornaments you can hang up year after year? If you’re looking to add a personal touch to your tree, then you’ll want to make these color blocked instagram ornaments asap! Here’s how:
I used Americana Decor Maxx Gloss paint (you can find at Michael’s, Home Depot, Joann’s, and Meijers). Because it applies so smoothly, you really only need one coat.
Coat your frames with sealer and let dry. Tape off at an angle and paint. Peel the tape and let dry again. On the back, apply a thin layer of tacky glue all the way around the frame and place on your photo. Let glue dry overnight.
With an X-Acto knife, trim the excess photo. To attach a hook, cut about 5 inches of cord, loop, and then secure with a dap of hot glue. Once completely dry, your ornaments are ready to hang!
So what do you think?! You can also write the date and place on the back so that years down the road you wont forget where the photo was taken. They also make the perfect handmade gift if you’re still thinking about what to make your loved ones!
Last year I rounded up some of my favorite handmade shops to follow on Instagram and let’s be honest, we are long overdue for an updated list! The following makers inspire me on a regular basis to bust out my supplies and create… well that, and buy everything on Etsy. If you’re looking for some new inspiration in your feed, or just want to find new shops, here are ten makers to follow on Instagram:
Happy Wednesday friends! Some of you may have caught this announcement over the weekend on Instagram, but I started a hashtag feed! Tag your color and fun photos with #colorfullycrafted to be regrammed on my account (with credit of course). Other than wanting to connect with you more through social media, I wanted to start this hashtag for another reason.
Often times I hear that people struggle with finding color where they live. And I hear you. Even though I live on the west coast, Portland for the most part is very much muted browns and greens. But the beauty about life is that color and joy are everywhere when you seek it out. And even when you’re at a loss, or simply can’t find it in your immediate surroundings, you can be the person to create it. Sometimes all it takes is that bit of extra effort.
I can’t wait to go on this color hunting journey with you!
