For those of you who follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you know that two weeks ago I attended Alt Summit. Alt is a yearly conference celebrating small business and the blogging community. It’s a remarkable event that I highly recommend attending if you have the opportunity.
I know I don’t typically write personal posts, but I wanted to share with you a few valuable things I learned.
Good things come to those who don’t wait! Figure out what it is that you want to accomplish and get to it; don’t let fear get in your way!

Failure is okay! Ideas rarely work on the first try. It’s imporant to learn from mistakes and successes, adapt, and keep going. At the end of it all, whether you fail or succeed, it’s about the experience; the journey is the reward. See some more inspirational quotes from Alt speakers here.

Know your worth! As a blogger, I’ve definitely gotten excited about partnerships that ended up being an opportunity just for the other party. When working with larger blogs or sponsors, don’t forget to look into how it will benefit you and your brand. Your ideas and your time are valuable; don’t sell your content, or yourself, short. A win-win scenario should be the end goal for both parties involved.
And of course, no Alt Summit recap would be complete without a business card round up! I think it’s fair to say that Alt attendees have the most creative, eye-catching business cards around. Below are a few of my favorites. Be sure to check them out for more inspiration (links under photo).
