It’s time for the reveal y’all! I am so excited to have this space done because I think one of the hardest aspects about moving is not feeling settled. While I still have my living room and kitchen to go, this makeover has certainly pushed me in the right direction of making Philly my new home (you can read a bit about that in yesterday’s before post).
I will do my best to link to sources, but if there’s something you see and would like to know where it’s from, just leave me a comment! Now, on to the photos!
For the space, I tried to make it a mix of DIY (like that polka dot pillow) and pieces I really love. It’s the first time in a long time that I’ve lived alone, which meant I didn’t have to check in with anyone if they liked what I did. Thus, pink side tables.
One of my favorites pieces in the room is the oversized palm tree print (54″x 40″) from Minted. I was nervous that such a large scale print would overpower the room, but it really just adds the perfect amount of color. I think if you’re going oversize that it’s important to keep the art simple and keep it to scale (ie don’t make it bigger than the bed).

Since the space is a combination of my bedroom and where I work, I tried to keep everything as simple and clean as possible. Close storage was definitely the way to go (you don’t even want to see what’s going on on the other side of those doors). You can grab the tutorial for the Matisse inspired wall art here! Also if you need a little help hanging your art level, this tool is a lifesaver.
After sleeping on an air mattress for two months, I was pretty excited to upgrade to an Eve Mattress. I’ve never considered buying a mattress online before, or have ever owned a memory foam, but I love it so much! Plus that pop of yellow is right up my ally. If you used code Crafted100 at checkout, you’ll get $100 off your order!
The modular shelving also helps be hide my desk a bit while giving me loads of storage. It’s probably one of my favorite projects to date– I can’t get enough of those colored brackets! You can also make the washi tape holder pictured above.
Everyone needs a cloche filled with disco balls! Learn how I painted my ombre here.
Additional Sources: pink side table, bed, duvet cover, air plants, bookends, lamps, chair, ceramic planter, runner, rug, giraffe ring holder, brass frames
So that’s it! What do you think?! This is certainly my favorite space that I’ve ever decorated and I can’t wait to get started on the rest of my apartment now!
I also wanted to give a huge thanks to Do You Shoot for helping me photograph the space. Be sure to check out his Instagram!

Love your style! Absolutely gorgeous! Could you tell me where to find the adorable bird vase, gold/glass geometric photo box, and beautiful lamps? Thank you for creating such an inspring space!
Hey Emily! So sorry for the delay here, I thought I got all the comments! The vase was from Anthropologie and the box and lamps are from West Elm :)
Such a beautiful room. I think it would be a lovely space to wake up in. Did you spray paint the brackets for your shelves? I love those!
Thank you so much Ivanova! And I did! The more color the better right? :)
what did you use to hold up the desk??
Hey Michele! You can see the full DIY for the desk here:
https://thecraftedlife.com/pinned-it-made-it-loved-it-diy-mounted-wall-desk/
I don’t see it. I’ve been on this page for hours trying to find the links to the items or a more intricate breakdown w/ photos of whats under the desk? Is it just larger brackets that hold up the desk?
Hmmm! Im not sure why you can’t see everything on the separate link, but maybe this one will help:

It’s a mounted all desk so you really just need to wall mounts, brackets and shelves. Let me know if that link is more helpful! xo
