It’s Christmas week and our holiday home tour is finally here!
This year’s decor is quite possibly my favorite that we’ve ever had! I used a mix of crafted + vintage items and I think it gave our space so much character and color. Really my ultimate dream Christmas decor is a perfect mix of heirloom and handmade pieces and this was the closest I’ve ever come to that dream. So let’s just get right into it so you can see it for yourself! Here’s our Christmas Home Tour for 2021:
Our color “theme” for the year was traditional Christmas with a twist! The mantel is my favorite place in the house. See how I made the colorful wood bead garland here. I also dyed some of the bottle brush trees, and you can too with this DIY. Both projects add a subtle rainbow to the other traditional red and green colors I used in the area.
I’ve been thrifting holiday glasses for a few years and they’re one of the best Christmas decor. It feels so fun to use the special glasses in the month of December. Hopefully one day my collection will be able to fill the entire hutch with them!
I got these crepe paper trees from Revery Paper Flora and adore them so much. The colors really pop on our table!
I was originally going to take the disco balls out of our fireplace so we could have fires, but it’s been so hot this year that we left them in. And honestly, I’m happy we did because they look great behind our screen that we found this summer at an antique shop.
Brass candle sticks are another item that I love to collect. An absolutely holiday must if you’re considering starting a collection of your own. Though honestly I use these year round too!
Of course it’s time for the best part: THE ORNAMENTS! I’m such a sucker for vintage glass ornaments and I finally had enough this year to really fill up our tree. I basically put every ornament that we had on the tree. She’s fragile, but she’s cute!
In previous years I’ve done a theme for our tree and this year it was nice to let loose and just add all the colors.
I can’t wait to share more of our apartment with you in the new year. But for now, I hope you have a lovely and safe Christmas. Wishing you and yours the best!
