It’s not often that I gravitate towards pastel colors, since I really think the bolder the better, but cool lavender is the exception! You might be asking yourself, what exactly is cool lavender? Well, it’s a pastel shade of purple where the undertones are based in blue (aka cool tones), instead of falling closer to the warmer red family. The difference is subtle, but when used in design, it’s an important difference. Here’s a bit more about June’s Color Crush:
Color: Cool Lavender
Pair it With: So many pairings are possible with this shade– from warm pastels, bright vibrant shades, or moody jewel tones, cool lavender is as versatile as it is beautiful. A bright yellow or coral are a great warm compliment to the cool undertones of lavender (think complimentary colors). Jewel tones like emerald green, navy, or even a deep plum really pop when paired as well.
Why it’s Crush-Worthy: it’s sweet, light, and yet somehow still rich and full of life. It brings in lightness and balance to any color combo since it’s complimentary without stealing the spotlight. When paired with other colors, not only will it enhance whatever is paired with it, but it will add vibrancy without overpowering. Any color’s BFF.
How to Bring it Home: this is the perfect color for an accent wall, especially if you have bolder pieces of furniture that would sit in front (think of a navy or emerald couch in front of a lavender wall). I also love the idea of this color brought in through dried flowers or even large scale art work to make the room seem larger. Lavender sheets would make for a subtle and delicate extra bit of color.
