Ryan and I have really been trying to cut back on our plastic usage and a key part of that is remembering to take our bags to the store and farmer’s market whenever we go. But why carry any just any old tote bag when you can have one covered in spring flowers?! Not only will this cute project help you remember to take your bag each time, but it’s easy to do. Here’s how:
Right now for national craft month (March!) you can grab the Cricut EasyPress in Mint, two iron on transfers, a carrying case, and ironing mat for only $189.95 through HSN! It’s typically $219.95 (savings of $30), so grab it quick before the month ends! I can’t tell you how much I am in love with this tool. It’s 100 times better than an iron and that color is just perfect for spring!
In addition to the EasyPress you’ll also need:
– Cotton tote
– Iron on material
– Scissors
I found this flower shape in the Cricut Design Space (it’s one of the top results when you search for daisy). Cut out on a variety of colored paper and trim to size.
Insert the heat mat in your bag and give a light press to remove any wrinkles.
While your EasyPress is heating up, take the time to arrange your daisies all over the tote. Play around with color combos and arrangements. I originally thought I wanted green on the bag, but once I saw it with the other colors I decided to remove it.
Hold your EasyPress over the final design and apply light pressure. Use the timer to count down how long you need to hold it. Give a quick iron on the backside as well and then remove the clear plastic coating once design is set.
And that’s it! I am so happy how this one turned out and think it’s the perfect way to get ready for spring and summer farmer’s markets!
