Earlier this year I shared how I made my TV gallery wall. I’ve been thinking about how I could give it a makeover for the holidays since that post went live…then it hit me. I could make each piece of art look like a present! A gift wrapped gallery wall! I am SO happy with how it turned out and think it makes our home feel instantly like Christmas. With a little wrapping paper, tape, and ribbon you can make your own too! Here’s how:
– Scissors
– Ribbon in various colors
– Wrapping paper in various colors
– Washi tape
I recommend using washi tape for this project because it’s gentler to use on your frame. If you’re super concerned with it damaging the backing of any of your framed art, I would suggest not moving forward with the project just to be safe. The project is a bit of an investment time wise if you have ton of art, but it will really transform your space for the holidays!
When cutting your paper, note that you don’t have to cover the entire backing of your frame. Not only will this save paper, but it will also ensure that your backing is free and clear when you go to hang the art.
Cut paper to size, fold ends, and tape in place.
To finish, add ribbon. If you’re doing a rainbow theme like I did, use one color ribbon per color of wrapping paper. This will ensure your gallery wall will be colorful, but not overly busy and complicated.
Hang all the art back on the wall and you’re done! I am so happy with how this turned out and will probably make it a yearly thing with different color themes. The color combos are endless and I can’t wait to see what you come up with (be sure to tag me so I can see your gift wrapped gallery wall)!
