Happy Sunday folks! Before the weekend ends, I thought I’d share a super quick and easy project with you. And though you might be nervous at the idea that you need to be great with watercolors to do this project, you certainly don’t! Trust me, if I can do this one, you’ll knock it out of the park. Here’s how to make these gift tags in no time at all:
Time: 15 minutes + dry time
Materials: watercolor paper, Faber-Castell® Designing with Gelatos® Kit, tag punch
Instead of using traditional water colors, I used Gelatos® sticks. There’s virually no clean up after and they’re great if your crafting on the go. There’s also a number of other fun ways you can use them. If you’d love to try these out, there will be in in-store crafting event at Michael’s tomorrow, 9/14 from 6:30-8:30pm, so be sure to check it out!
Start by lightly wetting your paper with clean water. I just rubbed my brush on the Gelatos® stick to pick up color, but you can also cut a bit of color off and mix it with warm water in a bowl or even apply the color directly to the paper. I recommend experimenting with a few different approaches before picking the one you like best.
Once your painting is completely dry, use your punch to make the tags. You could certainly make the tags before painting if you want total control over the way the watercolor looks on the tag. I personally am just into the element of surprise.
So that’s it! Totally easy peasy, right?!
