So I totally have a thing for rhinestones. Any color, any size, and on any surface, you name it. I can’t get enough! After making these clips to go in my hair, I decided to use the leftovers to make some earrings. Because you can never have too many fun accessories, right? Here’s how:
Time: 30 minutes
Materials: rhinestones, E-6000 glue, earring posts, scissors, felt or plastic backing
I personally like the pop of yellow on the side of my earrings (from the felt), but if you don’t, use clear plastic instead for your backing. It doesn’t have to be fancy, any scrap piece will do.
Start by mapping out your design. Once you have your earrings picked out, add a dab of E-6000 glue to the back of your rhinestones and place in position on the felt.
Once dry, trim away the felt, the smaller and sharper the scissors, the better. Glue on your earring backs and let dry completely.
Bada boom– just like that, you have new earrings!
These have instantly become some of my favorite earrings and I can’t wait to make more! What about you? Would you ever wear statement jewelry this loud or do you prefer simpler/classic pieces?
