If you thought my rhinestone obsession was just a phase, I’m happy to tell you that it’s not. The good news is that more and more I’ve noticed them creeping in on the style radar, especially on heels. And perhaps the even best news of all is that the trend is 100% DIY-able and takes little effort to pull off. Here’s how:
Time: 30 minutes
Materials:
– Rhinestones
– Heels
FYI I am totally in love with the smaller tubes of E-6000 glue. For some reason with the larger tubes, I always somehow manage to glue the cap on. Oof. You’d think after years of crafting I’d be smarter than that, butttt you can’t win ’em all.
Also Etsy is my go-to for finding rhinestones. They tend to be (aka 100% are) a bit more unique/less cheap looking than the ones you see at larger craft stores.
As for the DIY, I think this one is self explanatory. Add a small dab of glue to the back of your rhinestone and press onto your heel. The only thing you want to avoid is having glue spill out the sides of your stone and onto the shoe. Let dry (I suggest at least 1-2 hours to be safe) before wearing on the town.
So that’s it! All that’s left to do is grab from girlfriends, a bottle or two wine, and you are ready for some dancing!
So what do you think of the trend? Totally obsessed? Indifferent? I’m curious to know!
