Even if you’re a home owner, renter friendly projects are a great place to experiment with new colors and design styles since they can be easily redone.
So play around and have fun! Here’s to adding more color to the world!
Renter Friendly Projects
Take your favorite photos and display them in your home with this DIY Photo Wall Art project! Paint the side of the wooden blocks for an extra pop of color.
Don’t forget to use Velcro hangers for damage free display!
Often with renting, you might have a fridge that isn’t your personal style. But that doesn’t mean you have to settle!
Wallpapering your fridge with peel and stick wallpaper is not only a great way to add visual interest to your kitchen, but it’s a great way to cover a fridge you don’t love.
I painted the Tarva ikea dresser in my Brooklyn apartment, so I know it’s renter friendly! This is a simple dresser, so you can achieve a smooth finish with just a paint roller.
Fun fact– I still have this dresser in my home seven years later (with the same paint job!).
Turn that non-working fireplace into a conversation starter! I filled my fireplace with disco balls and it instantly became my favorite place in my home. Shop the disco balls I used!
Dyeing a lampshade will add that pop of color to any space! The best part is you can do this project from your kitchen sink.
Tip– don’t have a lampshade? Try looking at thrift stores for affordable shades that just need a bit of love.
When in doubt, add peel and stick wallpaper to create a statement wall. Don’t let the boldness stress you out. Learn how to create your perfect color palette and add whimsey to your home in my book Colorful Living!
Don’t want to put a bunch of nail holes in your wall, but still want art? Make this washi tape gallery wall instead!
Washi tape is gentle enough of walls that you can change up the layout and designs often without risking damage. And it comes in endless color and pattern options. Try this rainbow pack to get started.
