And just like that, we’ve made it to the last Halloween post of the year! Can you believe we’re at the end of October already?! I somehow finally finished decorating now, just in time to take it all down next week. Better late than never, right? Here’s a look at some DIYS + hacks I did to make our Halloween mantel decor come together:

If you’ve been a reader for a while, you know that I traditionally go colorful for all holidays. This year, however, I was feeling like sticking to a traditionally spooky theme. Not sure what’s come over me, but it was actually fun and a bit challenging to get out of my comfort zone of just defaulting to rainbow.
For the items, I wanted to stick to what we already had, what we could thrift, and what I could make. I made a very small amount of new purchases to bring this mantel together, which again was another fun challenge!
While I tried to make or thrift all of my Halloween mantel decor, I also couldn’t resist these drippy taper candles! As the candle burns, red wax drips from the inside out. They’re so fun to watch as they burn and they look creepy when not in use. An absolute must for your Halloween decor!

Ryan is a psychologist and had a vintage Rorschach ink blot test that we decided to frame! They’re so haunting and tied in with the spooky theme perfectly. I actually think this would make for a really fun DIY if you had paper and ink on hand. Should I add this idea to the calendar for next year?! Let me know!

Of course what is Halloween without googly eyes?! If you do no other decorating but googly eyes, you’ll still have a really fun space (like I did with this gallery wall). Add them everywhere and to everything!
I know it’s not exactly scary, but there’s no way I couldn’t use googly eyes in our disco ball fireplace. I have laughed or smiled at them everyday since I’ve been them up, so I consider that a decorating win.
Remember this post on how to make a Halloween cloche?! The skulls made it to the mantel! I really wanted to use both, but the space just wouldn’t allow for it. Don’t worry, the mini tombstone salt shaker is still out and on display. I have a feeling that the cloches will become part of my annual decorating tradition and I’m already brainstorming what I can put under them for next year.
And that’s the Halloween Mantel decor tour!! This is my first time ever having a mantel so I think as time passed I’ll be able to get more and more creative with the space. In the meantime, it’s time to pop on scary movies, carve pumpkins, and enjoy the last few days of the month. We made it!
