Time: 15 minutes + dry time
Materials: watercolor paper, Faber-Castell® Designing with Gelatos® Kit, tag punch

Learn how to make these watercolor gift tags in 15 minutes (and with no cleanup!)Instead of using traditional water colors, I used Gelatos® sticks. There’s virually no clean up after and they’re great if your crafting on the go. There’s also a number of other fun ways you can use them. If you’d love to try these out, there will be in in-store crafting event at Michael’s tomorrow, 9/14 from 6:30-8:30pm, so be sure to check it out!

Learn how to make these watercolor gift tags in 15 minutes (and with no cleanup!)Start by lightly wetting your paper with clean water. I just rubbed my brush on the Gelatos® stick to pick up color, but you can also cut a bit of color off and mix it with warm water in a bowl or even apply the color directly to the paper. I recommend experimenting with a few different approaches before picking the one you like best.

You could certainly make the tags before painting if you want total control over the way the watercolor looks on the tag. I personally am just into the element of surprise.

DIY Father’s Day Gift Box

Time: 20 minutes
Materials: box, paint, brush. scissors, wood tape

DIY Father's Day Gift BoxOkay, so. I found this amazing self adhesive wood tape about a year ago, but haven’t been able to use it in any projects until now. After typing that sentence, it seems that I may or may not be a hoarder of craft supplies. Alright, so I am. But not to worry, it’s allllll a part of the job.

Since Father’s day is next weekend, why not put some extra thought into the outside of his gift as well? It really takes no time at all to customize a cheap gift box. Here’s how I gave mine a makeover:

DIY Father's Day Gift BoxDIY Father's Day Gift BoxPaint the outside of your box and let dry. You can even write a message to your dad on the inside of the lid if you don’t want to get a card. Cut your wood tape into triangles, or whatever shape you prefer. Peel the back off the tape and stick on your box. It really couldn’t get any easier than that!

Fill with colored tissue wrap, confetti, and anything you dad would like!

Cranberry Sauce Dipped Gift Tags

Time: 10 Minutes + dry time
Materials: tags, brush, cranberries, water, paper towel

Cranberry Sauce Dipped Gift TagsPerhaps it’s because my birthday tends to fall on Thanksgiving, but it’s just not my favorite holiday to make crafts for. This year, however, I came up with an idea that was too easy not to share. So if you’re in charge of bringing cranberry sauce to the big feast, save some for yourself so you can make these dipped gift tags!

Cranberry Sauce Dipped Gift TagsTo achieve this look, you’ll basically be making a “watercolor” type of paint with the cranberry sauce and water. Take 1 TSP of cranberry sauce and blend with 2 TSP water. Mesh with a form to make sure the pigment is released from the cranberries. Let sit for 2-3 minutes.

Paint on your tags with a brush. Depending on how many tags you make, you may need to add more water to your mixture as you go. Set tags aside and let dry. If you’re in a hurry, you can also blot dry with a paper towel, however, it may remove some pigment.
