Time: 10 minutes
Materials: mini tree, glitter paper, mod podge, brush, yarn, cork mat
If you’re in need of a some holiday cheer, but don’t have the space for a full grown tree, why not get yourself with a mini tree?! Although the original containers they come in are not the cutest (see below), it’s nothing a little DIY can’t fix.
Before beginning, clean the outside of the container.
Cut your paper into the shape of a rhombus. To determine the right size, place the mini tree in the middle and fold up the sides. You may need to trim the paper a few times before getting the right fit.
With a sponge brush, apply mod podge to your paper and press onto the container. The paper will have folds and overlap, so play around with it! To keep the bottom of your paper from wrinkling when you water, slip a cork mat between the container and paper after you’ve glued your second side.
So that’s it! This project only takes about 10 minutes to do, but makes a big difference— and an excellent hostess gift!
