Yes it’s now technically fall, but that doesn’t mean it’s ever time to stop buying plants. Or potting them into colorful containers. If you want a quick and easy way to bring some brightness into your home to balance out the grey of the new season, then you’ll want to make these cute ombre planters ASAP! Here’s how:
Time: 5 minutes
Materials: planter, spray paint in two colors
So here’s the scoop. Ikea is the hidden gem for all things plants. I picked up a planter and a cactus (both pictured above) for about $5 total. If you haven’t looked around in that section yet, you are missing out my friend.
In a well ventilated area, turn your planter upside down and start spray painting. You want to aim the spray paint at the paper underneath your planter so that instead of a solid coat, the paint with speckle up the side of the planter (the effect will be similar to this vase DIY).
Let dry for 1-2 minutes then go in with your second color, this time aiming for a smaller area so that the first color still peeks through.
Let dry, pot your plant and you’re all done! While I think these looks great individually, I also really love having a set of different colors next to one another like a mini rainbow garden.
This little bit of orange and yellow means this counts as a fall project, right? I promise I’ll be out of denial about the season change soon.
