Upcycled Vases

I’ve always liked the texture of Santa Cruz jars, so converting them into vases seemed like the right thing to do for my first project.

Time: 2 hours
Materials (seen below): jars, Krylon indoor/outdoor spray paint, yarn, glue gun,  gloves scissors, brown paper bag
Cost: $4

1. Peel off the labels. These jars are nice because the glue is in one spot, verses all the way around. Make sure the outside surface is dry before painting.

2. It helps to hold your fingers inside the mouth of the jar and spin as you spray; holding the jar still may cause uneven paint.

3. Place lids on jars and rest upside down to paint the bottom. Allow a half hour or more to dry.

4. Time for yarn! Leave a short amount of string on one side, using the majority of the yarn to wrap around the lip of the jar, gluing along the way.

5. Done!
