Get your nails holiday party ready with this easy manicure tutorial!Typically I am a red/pink nail polish only kind of gal, as I’m sure you’ve seen in all of my posts. That is, except for Christmas! The one time of year when all my rules go right out the window (sorry diet and bank account). If you’re looking for a fun and easy way to prep your nails for party season, then this holiday manicure tutorial is for you. Here’s how:

Materials: base coat, green & red nail polish, stripe polish, Q-tips Precision Tips

Get your nails holiday party ready with this easy manicure tutorial! If you don’t quite have control over polish application, especially with your non-dominant hand, then be sure to have some Q-Tips Precision Tips handy! The ends are pointed so you can easily clean up your cuticles after you apply your polish.

Get your nails holiday party ready with this easy manicure tutorial!Start by prepping your nail surface (cut/file/buff), then apply a base coat. Apply two coats of polish alternating red and green as you go. To add a touch of holiday goodness, apply a thin line of silver glitter. If this is the first time using a brush of this width, I’d recommend practicing on a sheet of paper before applying to your nail.

Once your design is set, apply a quick dry top coat and let dry. Once you clean up your cuticles and any extra polish that may not be on the nail, you are ready for any and all holiday parties!

Watermelon Nail Art

Get your nails ready for summer with this watermelon nail art tutorial!Since my hands are essentially in 97% of the photos on this blog, I thought I’d treat my nails to a summer manicure. This is actually my first attempt with at-home nail art, so dont worry about needing any special skills to pull this look off. Here’s how I did it:

Get your nails ready for summer with this watermelon nail art tutorial!I used washi tape and scissors to make my guides, but you could spend two bucks on french tip guides to make this project a whole lot easier for you. You’ll also need:

– pinkish/red, green and black polish

– top coat

dotting pen tool or mini brush

Get your nails ready for summer with this watermelon nail art tutorial!1. Paint the reddish pink color as your base.

2. Once dry, tape off the tips.

3. Paint tips with green polish, peel tape, and let dry.

4. With your dotting tool, draw on seeds with the black polish. I found it helped to pour a bit of the polish out on (a piece of cardboard/scrap paper, etc). You may also want to practice making a seed shape before putting on your nail. You could also probably get away with polka dots if you really don’t trust your freehand.

5. Apply top coat, let dry, and you’re all set for summer BBQs!
