Happy Early Weekend!

Macarons by @thecraftedlife on Instagram (via Instagram)

After spending the last two weeks driving up and down the coast, speaking at Craftcation, and now fighting a cold, I am exhausted! So, I’ll be heading out a day early this week so I can drive back to Oregon and get some rest. Plus honestly, how can I top yesterday’s April Fools prank? I totally got you, right? While I’m away, be sure to check out these fabulous links:

Martha Stewart shared one of my photos on Instagram. I can retire now, right? Also, Martha forever.

Get on my walls ASAP! And this too!

– I cannot wait to try this! Also, I’m convienced Justina can do anything (got a major girl crush going on right now!)

– If you’re decorating eggs this weekend, this method takes no time at all.

– Do you think this would work on a large scale? Because I am in love!

– I never got on board with the pineapple craze, but this, this I’d make.

Have a great weekend!

Well guys we did it. We made it to the weekend. If that’s not worthy of a glass of champagne, I’m not sure what is! And while yes, life is short and you shouldn’t be lazy, that doesn’t mean you can’t take some time for yourself this weekend to catch up on a little R&R. After all, getting back into the swing of it all is hard, especially when Netflix is right there (am I right?). Any way you choose to spend your days off, you won’t want to miss these posts:

– These bottle stoppers are a must make.

– A clever way to reuse your fabric scraps!

– Must book a trip to Florida asap! These walls are beyond amazing.

– The perfect winter pick-me-up.

– Who knew notebooks could be gorgeous?

– What I wouldn’t give to live in this space!

Have a great weekend!

Do Less with More Focus by Melaine Burk(Image by Melaine Burk for Small Fry)

With the holiday craft season upon us, it’s always nice to read (and re-read) this quote. If I actually follow through with it, well, that’s a different story. Perhaps for the next few days at least, we can all make a pact to take a step back and focus on quality of tasks/projects completed instead of quantity. And what better time to start than with weekend links:

Easiest tassels ever.

– A talented group of bloggers launched Merry Magazine this week. A must read!

– Who knew plastic beads could look so chic?

These coasters go great with hot cocoa.

– I’m not sure where to find an apple crate, but I need to find out asap!

– Did you see that you can now edit your own captions on Instagram?! About time, am I right? Don’t forget to use #mycraftedlife if you make anything over the weekend!

The Crafted Life on Design Sponge(My garage makeover on Design Sponge!)

You could say that this week was a good one. I saw bits of snow (in Portland, no less), listened to Christmas music for this first time this year, and oh yeah, was featured on Design Sponge! When I started blogging in 2011, Design Sponge was one of the only blogs that I read at the time. It was so surreal to see my garage makeover on the front page that I still need someone to come over and pinch me!

Before I take off to celebrate this weekend, I wanted to share some other awesome links I came across this recently:

– My friend Tan opened her Etsy shop and everything is beau-tiful!

– I don’t think I’ll ever be over copper projects, at least not after seeing this one.

– I need to learn to knit asap!

– Genius use of an old belt buckle.

– Isn’t Lidy’s dinning room makeover stunning?!

Have a great weekend everyone!
