If you couldn’t tell from the pink, I’m a firm believer that life is too short for boring hair. Of course, I know that not all situations allow for you to have colored hair, but that doesn’t mean that you still can’t have a little fun. And what says fun more than some sparkle?! You can whip up a whole set of these glitter hair pins in no time at all. Here’s how:
Time: 15 minutes + set time for resin and dry time for glue
Materials
– Resin
– Glitter
– Bobby Pins
– E-6000 Glue
– Silicon Mold
– Plastic cups + stir stick
You can of course use any size/shape mold that you want. Just be sure that it’s made of silicon so that the final product pops out with ease.
Mix your resin according to the instructions (1:1 equal ratio). You’ll only need to fill the heart molds up about half way, so you really won’t need a lot. Add about a quarter size amount of glitter to the mixed resin and stir in.
To remove the air bubbles from the rest, place cup into bowl of warm/hot water (so the cup is surrounded, but not so any water gets inside cup), and let sit for 4-5 minutes. Remove from the water, pour into your mold and set aside to harden overnight.
When hardened, pop from the mold, and glue to your bobbly pins. Let dry and you’re all done!
Super fun, right?! I love the idea of using a variety of colors in an updo, almost as if you’re adding a rainbow. And if you’re looking for more ways to work with resin and glitter, try making these DIY Glitter Rings or these DIY Color Blocked Glitter Magnets!
