Regardless of all the cute decor and pumpkin patches, at the end of the day my favorite part about Halloween is the candy and Trick-or-Treat. We all remember the houses with the good candy from growing up and I’m sure we especially remember the houses that gave out pennies. If you’re looking bring that full size candy bar energy into your candy giving this year, whether it be for a party or just a nice treat for your co-workers, these DIY treat bags in a stenciled Halloween candy bowl are sure to do the trick! Here’s how:
What You’ll Need
– Martha Stewart Halloween stencils
– Martha Stewart Family Friendly paint
– Foam pouncers
– Bowl
– Muslin bags
How to Make a Stenciled Halloween Candy Bowl
Remove the backing from the stencil and apply to your bowl (will be self adhesive). Apply paint with pouncer then remove stencil. Repeat until the bowl is covered and set aside to dry.
For the treat bags, to prevent paint from bleeding through and for a sturdier work surface, place a piece of cardboard inside. Apply your stencil and pounce on paint. Remove stencil + cardboard and let dry completely before filling with candy.
This is such an easy project to do but the impact feels so special! Fill your bag with candy, temporary tattoos, or even a fake spider or two for fun!
