It’s that time of year again y’all! As you know, Christmas is one of my all time favorite things about life. The music, the food, the movies, being close to family, and of course the decorations; I’ll take it all, please and thank you.
This year I’ve teamed up with Lowe’s to give my apartment a holiday makeover and to share some tips for how you can stretch your decor into the new year. Something a little fun and different about this post is that product sources are tagged a few of the photos so that you can shop the items directly without having to search around for links (just hover over to see).
Now, to the decor!
If there’s one thing I never scrimp on, it’s ornaments. You can hang them on the tree, a garland, or even place them inside glassware to display. Plus unwrapping them year after year is always a mix of surprise and nostalgia.
Since I will be at my dad’s house for the actual holiday, I decided to skip the tree this year and break out the DIY Plywood Christmas Tree I made two years ago instead. You can pick up the supplies you need to make this project while you’re grabbing the rest of your decor! 
Of course I had to sneak in a little nontraditional color! Bottle brush trees are always so fun!
Because the holidays are expensive and busy enough as it is, I wanted to share some tips for ways you could extend the life of your decor past Christmas and into the new year:
1. The more silver and gold you can incorporate into your Christmas decor the better. The colors completely work for both holidays and you won’t really need to swap anything out. The Allen + Roth collection from Lowe’s has some super cute options.
2. Remove the candle from your larger glass hurricanes and use them as a champagne bucket/display for New Year’s eve.
3. Use tinsel from your tree and put into clear ornaments. This is much cleaner than decorating with confetti but still has that fun New Years party feel. You can even arrange them on a tray to make a centerpiece.
