Trim your tattoo to size and then peel the plastic layer off the front. Position on your ornament and wet the back with a sponge for about 30 seconds. Be sure to hold your tattoo as still a possible to not smudge the design. Peel paper off and let your tattoo dry on the surface.

If you don’t like the way it came out, you can remove with rubbing alcohol. But, if you did it right, seal with a thin layer of decoupage and let dry! Super easy, right? And with so many temporary tattoo options, you could make these for anyone in your family!

  2. What a genius idea! And of course I immediately thought of using temporary tattoo paper to make my own designs. Gonna have to try that, thanks for sharing!

P.S. I was sorry to see that you’d left Portland. I’d been meaning to suggest that we meet up, and I missed my chance! Best of luck with the move, though.

  3. This is my favorite DIY for Christmas. I cannot wait – I’m going to go pick up a sheet of the metallic temp tattoos and start decoupage-ing… That’s totally a word, right? Love these!

    1. I found my ornaments at Michaels. They might not be out for this year yet, but I bet you could find some there! And you could paint them, but I would try the technique where you pour the paint inside a clear bulb rather than painting the outside.

Good luck! Let me know if I can help in any other way!
