What would the holidays be without a little tinsel?! And you just know I had to pick the rainbow color scheme for this project, because why not go big! These DIY tinsel ornaments are the easiest way to add color to your tree and you can use your leftover decorating scraps as the material. PLUS you only need a few minutes to pull this all together, so this is just a win all around if I do say so myself! Here’s how:Materials
– Clear glass ornaments
– Wired tinsel
– Scissors
– Pencil
I found this colorful tinsel at Target this year. The piece cut above is all you’ll need for each ornament, which makes this project a great way to use up any decorating scraps you may have!
This project is pretty straight forward– just place tinsel in the ornament. It helps to have a pencil or thin stick to help guide the wired tinsel inside. You may need to maneuver it a bit, so be gentle so you don’t break your ornament (remember that it’s glass!).
Once your ornament is full, snip any remaining tinsel and place the lid back on top.
Easy as that! It really is such a great way to use those scrap pieces of tinsel instead of just throwing them out. You could make enough to cover an entire tree in no time at all. If you have a Cricut, you could also personalize the outside to make a lovely handmade gift!
