DIY Marble Dipped Vase

As if you didn’t know this by now, I’m sliiiightly addicted to turning old bottles into vases (see here and here). What can I say, I’m a craft-supplies hoarder. This was my first time experimenting with this marbling technique (I’ve marbled paper with shaving cream in the past), and although it wasn’t perfect right away, I’m now hooked! Have you ever tried marbling before? I’d love to know how it went!

Oh yes, and be sure to head over to Poppytalk to see the full marble dipped vase tutorial.

  • Oh man this is gorgeous. It looks like there’s red smoke inside the glass!! I tried marbling like this once and I had a lot of difficulty getting a pattern that looked like marble instead of a blob :P I almost feel like quality of nail polish matters, too. I was using very cheapo $1 nail polish so it must have been that, because it couldn’t have been ME, right?? I don’t know, basically I need to try this again.

    • Thank you Amy!

I and TOTALLY know what you mean! It took me a bit to get this one to work too. I used a range from cheap-decent quality polish, but found the main thing was to move quickly. I think using 2 colors is ideal. Can’t wait for you to try this one again!
